The Primary School quiz is one of the great successes of District 1010. This year (2011) 64 clubs held quizzes for the primary schools in their areas, involving over 450 primary schools and a huge number of children. Many larger primary schools now hold their own heats to determine their team members. Many schools hold quizzes regularly to prepare for the Rotary Primary school quiz.

The format for 2012 will remain the same as in previous years. There will be the usual 3 stages to the competition.
Stage 1. .. The club heat. The clubs hold their own quiz for the primary schools in their area, usually the feeder primaries for the local academy. Where there are a few clubs in an area then the clubs should determine which school each club will invite to their quiz. The club is responsible for every aspect of their quiz. The winning team goes through to the next stage.

Stage 2.   .. The area final. The area final is hosted by a volunteer club who will be responsible for every aspect of the quiz. The rules are the same as for the club heat. The host club will receive a payment for hosting the area final. This has yet to be set for 2012. The top 2 teams go through to the District Final.

Stage 3 ..The District Final.  The District final is organised by the Primary School Quiz coordinator. The rules are the same as the other rounds. Prize money totalling £1000 is awarded at the District Final along with the District Shield.

The rules/information pack will be available in Sept/Oct. with details of entry fee etc. Clubs are reminded that they should complete an entry form and submit with their cheque to ensure entry into the quiz. The entry form will be included in the information pack. Local Peterhead Primary Schools wishing to take part should contact Elaine Taylor by emailing our secretary Ian at sectrary@peterheadrotary.org
